Meet Tamara Traiser: An intern from Germany in Early Childhood Education in Jyväskylä

At Experience Workshop, we are proud to support international collaboration and cultural exchange through programs like Erasmus+. This year, we have the pleasure of welcoming Tamara Traiser, an enthusiastic and dedicated intern from Germany, who joined us in Jyväskylä, Finland, for a unique opportunity in early childhood education.

Tamara came to Finland through the Gesellschaft für Europabildung (GEB), an organization dedicated to promoting European education and mobility. With the support of Experience Workshop, Tamara is now on a school year-long internship as an Early Childhood Education Teacher at Voionmaa Daycare Center in Jyväskylä.

During her first week in Jyväskylä, Tamara participated in an intensive 6-day teacher training course in STEAM in School Education, developed and organized by Experience Workshop and led by our STEAM Director, Dr. Kristóf Fenyvesi. This course provided her with valuable tools and innovative approaches to integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) into education. The skills and competences she developed during this training became a fundamental part of her work at Voionmaa Daycare Center, where she creatively applies these methods to engage and inspire children.

For Tamara, this internship is more than just a professional opportunity—it is a chance to experience herself in Finnish culture, learn about the renowned Finnish education system, and grow both personally and professionally. From adapting to the Finnish way of life to working with young children in a multicultural environment, her journey has been filled with valuable experiences and unforgettable moments.

In her own words, Tamara describes her experience as a teacher in Jyväskylä that “Finnish education emphasize equal opportunities, innovative teaching methods, and a strong focus on student well-being.” She has embraced the Finnish concept of sisu—a unique blend of resilience, determination, and courage—and has brought her own creativity and passion to the daycare center.

Over the coming weeks, Tamara will be sharing her story through a series of short articles on our website. Each post will focus on a different aspect of her internship, from her daily life at Voionmaa Daycare Center to her adventures exploring Finnish culture and nature.

Welcome, Tamara, and thank you for sharing your journey with us!
