The first meeting, held at the Agora building with the Faculty of Information Technology, featured presentations from Professor Lauri Kettunen, Dr. Kati Clements, Dr. Tiina Mäkelä, and Dr. Kristof Fenyvesi. The core goal of this session was to identify synergies between Malaysian universities and JYU’s IT faculty, focusing on potential research and development projects, training activities, academic exchanges, and the recruitment of talented students from Malaysian high schools into their international study programmes.
The collaborative spirit continued with a subsequent meeting at the Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics (JSBE). Hosted by Vice Dean Professor Antti Rautiainen and Professor Mika Haapanen, the discussion mirrored the IT faculty’s objectives but within the context of business and economics. The parties explored a wide range of opportunities, including joint research initiatives, specialized training programs, and pathways for student mobility, all aimed at enriching the academic offerings of both JSBE and its potential Malaysian partners.
The day concluded with a final wrap-up session, where the Experience Workshop team led a follow-up discussion to consolidate the day’s insights and create concrete plans for future partnerships.
