The Europa 2000 Secondary School hosted a two day expert programme on AI Literacy for Educators. The training was delivered by Experience Workshop’s expert trainer Jukka Lehtoranta from Finland.
AI Today
The first day of the programme focused on practical use and experimentation. Participants explored the current possibilities and limitations of artificial intelligence. They learned how to use AI tools in education and in their everyday professional work. A significant part of the day was dedicated to prompt engineering, which is the skill of effective communication with AI systems. The group took part in a hands on AI workshop and engaged in collaborative experimentation. By the end of the day, each educator had created AI supported teaching materials and activities for their own subject areas.
AI Pedagogy
Second day, the focus shifted to teaching how AI works. The session began with an explanation of machine learning and generative AI. The educators discussed how to teach students about the inner workings of AI systems. A key theme was critical AI literacy, which involves identifying errors, bias, and limitations in AI output. The group also examined AI ethics, data privacy, and the responsible use of technology. The day concluded with a session on designing AI integrated classroom activities and sharing pedagogical good practices among the group.
Throughout the two days, the programme emphasised hands on experience and interactive workshop activities. Collaborative learning was a core component, as was the practical integration of AI into everyday teaching.
