From May 5th to May 10th, 2024, three upper secondary school teachers from Austria and Germany participated in an Erasmus+ staff mobility training course in Jyväskylä, Finland. The program, organized by Experience Workshop and led by trainer Jukka Lehtoranta, focused on AI and Digital Competences in Everyday Teaching.

Exploring Social Robotics at the University of Jyväskylä
The course began with a visit to the University of Jyväskylä, where participants interacted with JOEY, a social robot prototype designed for language learning in education. Led by Prof. Susanna Yeung (Head of EdUHK’s Social Robotics Research), the session explored how Generative AI, emotion recognition, and adaptive storytelling can enhance STEAM education and human-robot interaction.

Creativity and Innovation at Hacklab Jyväskylä
The second day included a visit to Hacklab Jyväskylä, a makerspace where participants discovered the hacker culture—focused on creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning with technology. The session emphasized empowering educators and students through practical tech exploration.




Course Conclusion
The course concluded with evaluations, feedback, and certificates, accompanied by Finnish pastries as a thank-you gesture.
