Course description:
The course approaches the topic of sustainable living and environmental awareness through the content and approach of the Finnish school curriculum of home economics, with a strong emphasis on examining which segments of the Finnish practice can be transferred to the participants’ own educational environment.

In this session we introduce the purpose and the aim of the Home Economics learning, the teaching methods and pedagogical concepts for teaching Home Economics. The session includes original classroom recordings and exclusive hints from the teacher.
- Daily life management with health and safety
This session looks for answers for the following questions, as they are discussed in Home Economics classes. Why are life management skills so important? How is it related to health and safety? Ways to cultivate a sense of sharing responsibilities in daily duties and the importance of cooperation at home.
